Sam Hill: WebCam - Housepotting - History (part 3)

1999 - Housespotting

the Housespotting website that became part of Channel 5 TV's show. This is the version that appeared infront of the nation, was seen by millions on TV and tens thousands visitied the website daily. It became for a time the most popular student webcam website across the globe.

2000 - Housespotting

Into a new millenium and into a new colour - Blue. This was the final proper edition of Housespotting to exist featuring students and live webcams, as come the Summer of 2000, we all graduated from University.

2001 - End of an Era

And so, as with all good things, it came to an end. We left University, and all went our own seperate ways:

As of January 2001 -
  • Anna - moved to Coventry to briefly persue a career in teaching
  • Andy - is still in Reading messing around with train toilets
  • Cheryl - is still at Reading Uni in her final year
  • David - stayed in Reading working on digital TV software
  • Ed - almost made a Barister, but ended up at IBM
  • James - moved to London working as a web designer
  • Josie - moved to London works writing Computer manuals
  • Kate - briefly went to Sandwich before returning to Reading
  • Liz - is studying in Guildford to become a solicitor
  • Nik - stayed in Reading working at The Baa
  • Sam - moved to London working as a Software Developer
  • Scott - stayed in Reading working for BT
  • Shelley - is still studying hard at Reading
  • Stu - moved to London working of defence software

Like all good things, in October 2001, Housespotting finally came to an end. It was fun, but times have changed, people have moved on and lets face it - we stopped being students. We had our moment of fame, time to fade into the mists of time!
